The French Kitchen at Grand Hyatt Tokyo will be serving a special Marie Antoinette-inspired menu from October 1 to February 28, 2017. The French Kitchen will be offering the "Marie Antoinette Afternoon Tea" (3,000 yen), featuring desserts made with secret recipes said to have been enjoyed by Marie Antoinette. The set includes four sweet items: macarons, financiers, strawberry cake, and a daily cake, as well as four savory items: finger sandwiches, quiche, and smoked salmon. The tea set includes NINA'S Original Marie Antoinette Tea, a Ceylon tea flavored with fresh apples and roses picked from the royal gardens at the Palace of Versailles, where Marie Antoinette lived. The restaurant will also offer the "Marie Antoinette Special Course" (12,000 yen), a dinner course inspired by Marie Antoinette, featuring a modern take on traditional French cuisine. Using colorful ingredients such as ruby grapefruit and purple sweet potatoes, the cuisine embodies Marie Antoinette's glamorous worldview. Furthermore, on October 26th, the restaurant will host the "Marie Antoinette Special Dinner," a one-night-only dinner party featuring food and décor inspired by Marie Antoinette, in the event space that will reopen at the end of August. Guests can enjoy desserts recreated from secret recipes said to have been eaten by Marie Antoinette, as well as the "Original Marie Antoinette Tea" served as afternoon tea. Gifts will also be available, including tickets to the "Marie Antoinette Exhibition" and a gorgeous and elegant red rose lipstick by CHICCA Mesmeric Lipstick, reminiscent of Marie Antoinette's. The dress code will be "Something Rose," and guests will be asked to wear rose-themed items. Author Nakano Kyoko, author of "Tracing the Life of Marie Antoinette Through Artworks," will also be on stage to talk about the appeal of Marie Antoinette. The event is limited to 50 people.
