TOMO KOIZUMI has announced its first-ever wedding dress collection. In collaboration with Happo-en's wedding brand, "KOTOHOGI," two special dresses, "KOKU" and "HAKU," have been created to symbolize the members-only "CLUB FLOOR" floor.

Where blessing and creation intersect
A special wedding dress by TOMO KOIZUMI will be born at Happo-en in Shirokanedai, Tokyo. The two dresses, born from the brand's first-ever wedding dress collection in collaboration with Happo-en's wedding brand, KOTOHOGI, were designed with the motifs of two venues on Happo-en's members-only CLUB FLOOR: STUDIO KOKU and HALL HAKU. These are not for sale or rental, but special dresses that can only be worn in this particular location. The spatial composition of the venue, the quality of light, and even the flow of time all blend seamlessly with the dresses, creating a truly celebratory experience.

Weddings as a New Chapter for the Brand
Tomo Koizumi is known for his architectural constructions of color and frills, and has designed numerous stage costumes and costumes for artists both in Japan and abroad. Since garnering global attention at New York Fashion Week in 2019, he has continued to engage in expressive activities that go beyond fashion.

Continuing on from that trajectory is this new theme of "weddings." The passion he has always expressed for creating clothes is rooted in the pure emotion of "wanting to create something beautiful to bless someone." This dress crystallizes that idea in the form of "a special moment in life." The brand's first wedding dress became a symbolic project for TOMO KOIZUMI, expanding his expression from the "stage of fashion" to the "stage of life."
Design and Theme - "KOKU" and "HAKU"
The two dresses were inspired by the spatial design of STUDIO KOKU and HALL HAKU, located in Happo-en's new venue, CLUB FLOOR. "KOKU" is a striking dress with a ruffled gradation that changes from white to black. The bustier, made with gold-threaded Karaori weave, adds a gorgeous depth, fusing architectural beauty with the precision of craftsmanship.

"HAKU" has soft shadows with a white base and gray accents, and a silver-embroidered camellia motif stands out against the Zennoji weaving fabric from northern Kyoto.

All of the dresses feature detachable ruffles on the décolleté and shoulders, allowing for free arrangement to suit the bride's personality and the atmosphere of the space. TOMO KOIZUMI's specialty, the "coexistence of structure and lightness," gives a new look to the wedding dress format.
A philosophy of constructing joy
The theme of "giving shape to emotions" always underlies TOMO KOIZUMI's designs. He has previously used frills and color to constructively express positive emotions such as happiness and hope. This philosophy is also present in this wedding dress.

Sublimating the emotion of joy into the structural beauty of clothing—this philosophy is always present in his work. This is not mere decoration, but rather clothing that is "art for wearing blessings."

Happo-en, a "stage for celebrations"
Happo-en, the setting for this collaboration, is a place that has inherited Japan's festive culture, where nature and people live in harmony, since its founding in 1943. The new "CLUB FLOOR", which will have its grand opening in October 2025, has evolved into a space where a special experience is designed for each group. This philosophy - "creating a place of celebration that connects people" - resonated with TOMO KOIZUMI's ideas, making this collaboration a reality. By combining the memories of the "place" of Happo-en with TOMO KOIZUMI's "outfits," the costumes become more than just clothing, but symbols that record milestones in life.

Wearing the celebratory moments - it means preserving the memories of your life in a tangible form. These two dresses, created by TOMO KOIZUMI and KOTOHOGI, depict a new form of beauty that lies between "fashion" and "ceremony." Set on the tranquil setting of Happo-en, the stories told by the costumes will become the prototypes of future celebrations.
