Grand Hyatt Tokyo's "mushroom-filled" autumn menu includes truffle pizza and a hotpot made with "mysterious mushrooms"

Aug 17, 2016

Starting September 1, Grand Hyatt Tokyo will be gradually introducing a limited-time autumn menu featuring seasonal ingredients such as matsutake mushrooms and truffles.

The China Room, which serves representative dishes from various parts of China and authentic dim sum, will be offering a healthy "mushroom hotpot" made with a generous amount of domestic mushrooms and seafood from September 1 to November 30. The hotpot features approximately 20 types of domestic mushrooms, including the extremely nutritious Yamabushitake mushroom, known in Japan as the "phantom mushroom," as well as rare mushrooms such as Tokiirohiratake, Hanabiratake, and Daikokuhonshimeji, as well as standard mushrooms such as enokitake and shiitake. The hotpot also includes a variety of seasonal fish such as mountain shrimp, scallops, grouper, and rockfish, as well as beef loin and Shingen chicken.

You can add the superfood dried golden berries or camu camu powder, which is rich in vitamin C, to your oyster sauce-based soup to taste, and for the final dish, you can choose between gluten-free noodles, which are also attracting attention as a diet food, or champon noodles.

From October 1st to 31st, Cafe Fiorentina, where you can enjoy Italian cuisine, will be offering pizza made with plenty of white and black truffles imported from Italy. Also, from October 1st to November 30th, they will be serving fettuccine and risotto made with fresh Italian porcini, a luxury mushroom that represents the Italian autumn.

At Keyakizaka, where you can enjoy fresh ingredients in a live teppanyaki style, they will be offering a limited-time autumn menu using matsutake mushrooms, the king of autumn flavors, from early September to mid-November. The restaurant offers a variety of course menus featuring high-quality domestically-sourced matsutake mushrooms, including teppanyaki and wrapped matsutake, as well as matsutake fritters and matsutake rice. Additionally, Japanese restaurant Shunbo will be offering a full course meal featuring plenty of matsutake mushrooms from September 1st to October 31st. Edomae Sushi Rokku will be offering a menu featuring fresh raw salmon roe, which can only be eaten in autumn, from September to mid-November.
