Long eclairs and rainbow-colored roll cakes? Autumn-only sweets and breads featuring chestnuts and pears at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo

From mid-September to October 31st, Fiorentina Pastry Boutique on the first floor of the Grand Hyatt Tokyo will be serving sweets and breads made with seasonal ingredients perfect for the bountiful autumn season. Among the desserts on offer this time is the "Fresh Chestnut Éclair" (2,000 yen), an éclair made with a luxurious homemade cream made from fresh chestnuts. Chopped chestnuts are mixed into the cream and topped with a delicate crumble for added flavor. The "Pear and Caramel Gateau" (680 yen), a caramel-flavored mousse cake made with domestic pears, features a marbled surface and chocolate edging. Other desserts on offer include the "Gateau Basque" (500 yen), which has a rum raisin flavor; the "Apple and Rhubarb Jam" (1,400 yen), which has an exquisite balance of sweet and sour; and the "Colorful Roll Cake" (1,800 yen), a fresh cream roll cake wrapped in colorful chocolate.

For bread, we offer two types, baked with a generous amount of domestic mushrooms and chestnuts. The "Marron Cream Bread" (600 yen) is bread baked to resemble chestnuts, filled with a cream made from a combination of chestnut paste, fresh cream, and custard. It is sprinkled with coconut to add texture and topped with candied chestnut skins. The "Mushroom Focaccia" (450 yen), which uses plenty of mushrooms, uses shimeji mushrooms, maitake mushrooms, and king oyster mushrooms sauteed with garlic oil and black pepper, and then tossed in a moderately sour balsamic vinegar and olive oil. It is seasoned with a sauce made from whole grain mustard and mayonnaise, and topped with Gruyere cheese and Parmesan cheese.

In addition, a Halloween-only menu will be available from October 1st to 31st. In addition to the "Jack o' Lantern" (4,000 yen), a chocolate pumpkin jack-o'-lantern filled with sweets, other items on sale include the "Pumpkin Paris-Brest" (6cm 670 yen, 12cm 3,800 yen), a crispy cake shaped like a pumpkin, filled with three kinds of cream: pumpkin, pistachio, and custard, and the "Pumpkin Roll Cake" (2,000 yen), which is cream made from fresh pumpkin wrapped in dough mixed with pumpkin powder.
