About Isetan Mitsukoshi's Sustainability Initiatives in Shopping
With the aim of becoming "the Isetan Mitsukoshi Group that connects people and the times," we are gradually implementing sustainable initiatives in fashion, such as focusing on environmentally friendly materials, collecting unwanted clothing (for a limited time), and collaborating with local communities and producers in our manufacturing. In terms of food, we are offering smaller-than-normal bento boxes to reduce food waste and bread slices that can be eaten in one sitting as part of our in-house promotions.
Furthermore, the Isetan Mitsukoshi online site, which was redesigned in June 2020, now features a dedicated page where customers can participate in sustainable initiatives and learn about products through their shopping. We will work with customers to consider "familiar actions" that provide opportunities to learn about a sustainable society and lead to concrete contributions.
