For four days from October 31st to November 3rd, the "Yakiimo Hiroba" event featuring sweet potatoes and chestnuts will be held in the central plaza of Azabudai Hills in Tokyo.

From honey-drenched baked sweet potatoes and baked sweet potatoes made with the rare "White Sweet" variety to ultra-thin 0.5mm Mont Blanc cakes—a selection of the finest flavors from all over Japan will be gathered at this new landmark in the heart of Tokyo this autumn.

The outdoor plaza will feature a variety of unique potato specialty shops, including Ishiyakimo Oonoya, which delivers freshly baked sweets in an old-fashioned pickup truck; OIMO cafe, which turns traditional Kawagoe potatoes into sweets; and Ginrokuimo, which are hung in specially made pots and carefully roasted over charcoal. Also appearing from Kasama, a famous chestnut-producing region, will be Kasama Japanese Chestnut Specialty Shop Kuri no Ito, which has won the Road-1 Grand Prix twice in a row. The Mont Blanc, with its aroma of finely squeezed chestnuts and a melt-in-your-mouth texture, is a must-try.

In addition to food, the fantastical space around the bonfire is filled with live music such as jazz and Irish, which changes daily, and workshops are held that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. There are programs available that will allow you to enjoy both the food and art of autumn, such as making jack-o'-lanterns using pumpkins and wreaths incorporating autumn plants.

Enjoy the autumn harvest while sitting around a fire in the heart of the city. Azabudai Hills' proposed "Roasted Sweet Potato Square" is set to become a new seasonal experience that combines food and culture.
