Starting July 1st, The Lobby Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto will be offering a special menu to commemorate Pierre Hermé's award as the world's best pastry chef.
Until now, The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto has offered sweets produced by Pierre Hermé at The Lobby Lounge and the Pierre Hermé Paris Boutique. This time, to commemorate Pierre Hermé's award, in which he was awarded the "World's Best Pastry Chef" award in June, The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto will be offering a menu that allows you to enjoy "Pierre Hermé Paris" all day, from morning to night, including a special breakfast and afternoon tea that can only be enjoyed at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto. For breakfast, the popular "Continental Breakfast" will feature three types of viennoiserie, a French pastry, including croissants, a Pierre Hermé Paris specialty only available at select boutiques. The menu (4,000 yen) will also feature dishes made with "specially selected herb eggs" raised at Nakamura Farm in Yamanashi Prefecture, where eggs are fed a unique diet of approximately 30 different herbs. In the afternoon, the number of desserts available in the Afternoon Tea (4,500 yen) has been increased from four to seven. For evening, the "Paris-Brest Satine" cake, a bold interpretation of the Paris-Brest cake, featuring ring-shaped choux pastries and chopped almonds, will be available for the first time in Kyoto. It will be served as a set (3,000 yen) with the restaurant's original tea, "The Ispahan," and two macarons. There are two types of macarons: "Imagine," which is exclusive to The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, and seasonal macarons.
