San Francisco-based book and design retailer PRESS will open a shop-in-shop at destination Tokyo on July 9th, located on the second basement floor of Lumine Est in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Since its founding 11 years ago, PRESS has offered a curated selection of items, including out-of-print and first editions on art, fashion, design, crafts, and counterculture, new releases from small presses, unique stationery from around the world, and design objects from the 1960s to 1980s. Each book in the store is meticulously cleaned and covered in DuPont polyester film, a material developed for preserving antique books. The books are displayed in a way that best showcases their beauty and originality.
This marks the opening of PRESS's first store in Japan. The store will also be open for a limited time from July 29th to August 8th at H.P. DECO in Omotesando, Tokyo. The pop-up shop at H.P. DECO will be closed on August 8th only.
