Shiseido will hold the grand opening of the first flagship store for its brand, "SHISEIDO GLOBAL FLAGSHIP STORE," in Ginza, the city where the brand was founded, on July 31, 2020. The "SHISEIDO GLOBAL FLAGSHIP STORE" will communicate the brand's worldview to domestic and international customers visiting Ginza and offer a beauty experience that combines the latest technology with a human touch. Responding to diversifying beauty needs and lifestyles, the store will offer digital testers that allow customers to freely and enjoyably try cosmetics using all five senses, beauty counseling tailored to customer needs, and an advanced meditation experience, the first of its kind in Japan. Occupying three floors of the building, it will be the world's largest street-level SHISEIDO store. In addition to the brand's full product lineup, including skincare and makeup, the store will also sell exclusive products. 
 
Amid the growing need for "contactless" purchasing amid the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented store hygiene management and introduced content to accommodate new lifestyles, such as "contactless" beauty counseling and automatic product testers, to allow customers to experience the store with peace of mind. Furthermore, we are also simultaneously opening a "Virtual Store," which allows customers to experience the same experience on the website as if they were in a store, and then purchase products directly on the brand's e-commerce site.

"SHISEIDO GLOBAL FLAGSHIP STORE" is taking measures to prevent infection, such as temperature checks, disinfecting hands and testers, wearing masks and other droplet prevention measures, and social distancing, so that customers can enjoy their in-store experience without worry and take home power through "beauty," even during and after the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, we are also introducing new initiatives to our content.
 
1. A contactless shopping experience that enhances the self-service experience
The "S CONNECT" wristband records the experience and allows customers to add products to their cart, while the digital tester allows customers to research and compare product information on a touchscreen. This allows customers to experience the entire process from trial to purchase without any human contact. The touchscreen uses a special stylus. Additionally, we have introduced an automatic tester for serums and foundations, allowing customers to try products without contact.
 
2. Lesson-Style "Contactless" Counseling
Utilizing Puri, we are introducing a new lesson-style counseling experience where customers can receive personalized skincare and makeup advice from a beauty consultant (BC) in a contactless environment. Customers can choose to try products themselves while watching an original video, or with a BC explaining the process. 3. A "Virtual Store" that Links Offline and Online Experiences
A "Virtual Store" will be set up on the "SHISEIDO GLOBAL FLAGSHIP STORE" site, where customers can experience content without visiting the store and purchase products on the e-commerce site, the "SHISEIDO Official Online Store." Customers can explore the store in VR and by hovering their cursor over the content they want to know about, they can watch an introductory video for that content. In the beauty lesson content available on the second floor, customers can watch videos in which BCs provide advice tailored to seasonal skin conditions and introduce makeup techniques, which can then be put into practice at home. The products used in the video are displayed, and by clicking on them, they will be redirected to the e-commerce site where they can make a purchase.
