Hotel Andaz Tokyo in Toranomon, Tokyo, is once again making waves this year with its cool, summer-only sweets.
The "Pastry Shop" on the first floor is bringing back the "Fresh Fruit Shaved Ice" that was a big hit in the summer of 2016. Available until September 10th, the lineup includes two flavors: "Peach & Strawberry" (1,100 yen) and "Melon & Lemon" (1,350 yen), both of which are luxurious sweets generously topped with so much fresh fruit that the ice is no longer visible (tax not included).
Also available is the classic sweet series "Mellow Melon," made with sweet, juicy melon. Guests can enjoy a variety of melon-themed sweets, including the signature "Melon Eclair" (small, 200 yen / large, 490 yen), the popular "Melon Pudding Sweet Jar" and "Melon Jelly Sweet Jar" (650 yen each), and "Melon Shortcake" (600 yen) (tax not included).
The "Andaz Tavern Lounge & Bar" on the 51st floor of the hotel is offering "Summer Ice Cream Coolers" until August 31st. The lineup includes four flavors inspired by European and Japanese summers, priced at 1,500 yen each (service charges and tax not included), such as "Peach Melba - French Summer," lavishly decorated with peaches from Yamanashi Prefecture, which are in season, and "Affogato - Italian Summer," which features rich mascarpone ice cream topped with a bitter double espresso.
