Enjoy a course meal of parfaits and other summer sweets at Hoshino Resorts Karuizawa Hotel Bleston Court

Hoshino Resorts Karuizawa Hotel Bleston Court (Hoshino, Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture) will be holding the "Karuizawa Sweets Collection 2017 Summer" from July 1st to September 15th, only during the summer season.

The Sweets Collection is an event held four times a year where guests can enjoy afternoon tea and gateaux made with seasonal ingredients, centered around a set course of sweets called "Menu Dessert." This time, they will be offering a course of three cool and refreshing sweets made with luxurious peaches and blueberries, perfect for summer.

The special midsummer menu featured here is the four-item parfait course "Menu Dessert Parfait" (3,000 yen, tax and service charge not included), available from July 22nd to August 18th. The first item is a melon cream and soda drinkable parfait called "Awai Omoide." The refreshing taste of this three-layered dish features Meyer lemon jelly, elderflower ice cream, and slightly carbonated soda with melon juice, and the thin glass garnished with rosemary adds a refreshing touch.

The second dish is "In the Grassland," a salty parfait combining crispy crumble with crémet d'Anjou and ricotta cheese sorbet. The third dish is the main dessert fruit parfait "Basting in the Sun," featuring layers of compote, sorbet, blancmange, jelly, and more, made with the day's recommended fruit such as peaches and blueberries. The course concludes with "Summer Forest," a warm parfait of gateau au chocolat, an adaptation of the traditional French pastry, Forêt Noire. The main desserts can also be ordered individually (1,200 yen excluding tax and service charge).

Other options include three types of "gateaux" made with blueberry, apricot, red currant and raspberry mousse (600 yen each / 1,200 yen with a drink set), and an "afternoon tea" (3,500 yen except from July 22nd to August 18th) which includes sweets such as blueberry tarts, small pastries and mousse, as well as eclair salés filled with sausage and Shinshu salmon, all served with a drink (all prices excluding tax and service charge).
