In this week's Bread of the Week, the FASHION HEADLINE editorial team introduces the breads they're currently catching our eye. For our 11th installment, we're featuring Pane & Olio!

Pane & Olio, a bakery in Gokokuji, Tokyo, specializes in Italian bread. Since opening in 2013, they've been serving authentic Italian bread made with traditional Italian recipes. They're currently hosting a pop-up at the Isetan Shinjuku store through October 1st! In addition to the bakery's popular items, they'll also be featuring pop-up-exclusive items.

Panettone Traditionale
(1 whole (¥4,212; photo shows a 1/4 cut, ¥1,053, exclusively available at the Isetan Shinjuku pop-up)

First, check out Pane e Olio's specialty, the Panettone Traditionale. "Panettone" is a traditional Italian fermented pastry, a popular item at the store that has been featured in various media outlets. Even Milanese people approve of this delicious panettone, so be sure to give it a try! The Gokokuji store only sells whole loaves, so if you're curious and want to try it for the first time, you might want to consider purchasing the 1/4 cut size, available exclusively at the Isetan Shinjuku pop-up.

Crostini (1 bag of 8 pieces, ¥378 / Isetan Shinjuku Store Pop-Up Exclusive)
Crostini, with a crispy rusk-like texture, is an Italian snack bread. This is a dish that can be enjoyed by both adults and children, and is perfect as a snack or to accompany alcohol. This time, we will also introduce Pane e Orio's recommended spread, Italian Nutella, which allows you to enjoy crostini like a chocolate dessert. We also recommend topping it with liver pate. Of course, it's also good to eat it as is! This is a limited edition item available only at the Isetan Shinjuku pop-up store, so don't miss out.
*Product prices listed include tax as of September 2019.
