"Dandelion Chocolate Bean To Bar Lab Kuramae," an open lab for the bean-to-bar community, opened on February 9th.

Opened next to Dandelion Chocolate's first store in Japan, "Factory & Cafe Kuramae" (4-14-6 Kuramae, Taito-ku, Tokyo), "Bean to Bar Lab Kuramae" is a new platform created with the aim of making bean-to-bar more accessible and fostering a rich community. The lab will host a variety of events related to bean-to-bar chocolate, including various workshops for learning and enjoying together, cooking classes taught by Dandelion Chocolate's pastry chefs, workshops, business matching, and networking.
Their regular chocolate workshops are aimed at people who want to learn about bean-to-bar chocolate. Two programs are regularly held: "Chocolate 101," an introductory course that teaches participants about the process of turning cocoa beans into chocolate bars and tasting them; and "Chocolate 201," where participants can experience the Dandelion Chocolate manufacturing process, including sorting, roasting, and grinding cocoa beans. Starting in April, they will also be holding cooking classes where participants of all levels, from beginners to advanced, can experience making sweets using Dandelion Chocolate's single-origin cocoa.

Furthermore, collaboration events with various manufacturers leading the craft scene are also planned. This month, events included a tasting event where you could enjoy the pairing of Australian third wave coffee "Single O" with dandelion chocolate, and a workshop with "inkstand by kakimori" where you could make your own custom ink. The event schedule will be announced on the official website from time to time, so be sure to check it out!
