Hotel New Otani Tokyo is hosting a "Sandwich & Amaou Sweets Buffet" until March 31st in its garden lounge, overlooking the 400-year-old Japanese garden. The buffet features a lavish selection of sweets made with Amaou strawberries. 

The chef pastry chef's desire to serve only the most delicious strawberries is reflected in Hotel New Otani's strawberry sweets, which are made exclusively with in-season strawberries. The long-awaited "Amaou Sweets" are finally here, made with the luxurious "King of Strawberries," Hakata Amaou®. From classic shortcake to mamekan, you can enjoy the hotel's exquisite sweets to your heart's content.

This supreme shortcake, which has been an unwavering favorite since its launch in 2004 as part of Hotel New Otani's 40th anniversary celebrations, is now available as "Super Amaou Shortcake." The star ingredient, "Hakata Amaou®," is marinated in natural sunflower honey from France to enhance the harmony between the sponge and cream. This ultimate shortcake, which has been carefully crafted to achieve the perfect sweetness, aroma, texture, and even appearance, is served buffet-sized.

"Amaou Tart" is a fragrantly baked tart filled with almond milk custard and cream, and generously topped with Amaou strawberries. The marriage of the crispy tart crust and juicy Amaou strawberries is an irresistible delicacy. Other items on offer include "Amaou Jelly," a refreshing jelly filled with plenty of fruit juice combined with fresh Amaou strawberries; "Amaou Panna Cotta," a specially made panna cotta with a rich vanilla flavor and garnished with Amaou strawberries; "Amaou Sorbet," a luxurious and refreshing sorbet made with 100% Amaou strawberries; and "New Edo Mamekan with Amaou Strawberry," a colorful agar jelly with the equivalent of two fresh strawberries packed into a 1cm square, combined with homemade black beans and brown syrup.
Also available is Grand Chef Nakajima Shinsuke's masterpiece, "Super Melon Shortcake," made with plenty of the finest Shizuoka-grown muskmelon, which boasts a sugar content of over 14 degrees.

Another highlight of the Garden Lounge buffet is the 16 unique sandwiches on offer. In addition to classics like the "Roast Beef & Lettuce Sandwich" made with the hotel's traditional roast beef, the lineup also includes unique sandwiches like the "Pork Sesame Shabu-Shabu and Pickled Mustard Greens Bagel" and the "Ajillo" sandwich. Also new this time are the "J Cereal Sukiyaki Hot Sandwich" and "J Cereal Yakitori Hot Sandwich." These new sandwiches are made with guilt-free bread dough made with "J Cereal," an original blend of domestic grains such as millet and amaranth, and topped with a sweet and spicy special sauce and pickled red ginger. Other popular items include beef stew, which is slowly simmered using the hotel's traditional recipe, and eggs Benedict. Don't miss the healthy seasonal vegetable salad bar, which comes with five different dressings.
