Toraya, a Japanese confectionery shop with a history of around 500 years, will be selling sweets for a limited time related to Hinamatsuri, a long-standing festival celebrated to pray for the healthy growth of girls.

The "Egao Manju" sweets are adorable sweets with a red dot in the center and filled with red bean paste; the "Hana Higashi Assortment," a red and white dried confectionery made with wasanbon sugar and shaped like camellia, peach, and cherry blossoms; the "Momo no Sato" sweets made with gyuhi and filled with white candy paste; the "Senju" sweets made with nerikiri and filled with white bean paste; and the "Hina Temari" sweets made with Domyoji and filled with white bean paste. The boxes are modeled after the "Hinaikogo" (tiered boxes used to deliver Hina sweets in 1776), which also forms the basis for the design of Toraya's carrier bags.
