A retro and cute Taisho-era themed dessert fair will be held at Hilton Tokyo, where you can indulge in princess sweets!

Event Date:2018.06.01-09.30
May 1, 2018
Located on the first floor of Hilton Tokyo, the Marble Lounge will be hosting its first-ever dessert fair, "Japonisme: Macarons Over Flowers," from June 1st to September 30th.

Previous dessert fairs at Marble Lounge, such as "Invitation from Alice," "Marie Antoinette's Marriage," and "Strawberry Psychedelic 60s," have been popular for creating worlds through desserts and decorations, with story-like presentations.
This summer, in a cute, retro setting reminiscent of Taisho-era romance, you can enjoy approximately 30 types of princess sweets and macarons made with seasonal fruits and pastel colors, and immerse yourself in the world of "Tottetama," an abbreviation of the Taisho-era schoolgirl catchphrase "Tottetama!"

Passing through the vibrantly colored gate reminiscent of hanging Hina dolls, you enter the sparkling world of "Tottetama," where European taste meets modern Japanese in a charming harmony. A dazzling chandelier sits next to a decorated cake with a kimono motif by Mamechiyo, the charismatic modern kimono designer. A nostalgic-looking matryoshka doll lies beside an obi sash accented with lace and ribbons, and pastel-colored macarons displayed alongside peonies on a traditional Hidehira-nuri lacquered tray will surely make your girlish heart flutter. Furthermore, projection mapping will be projected onto the umbrellas and flower balls hanging from the ceiling, creating an elegant presentation with flower petals fluttering around the desserts and butterflies frolicking.

The dessert lineup will feature around 30 types of French pastries, the specialty of executive pastry chef Osamu Hata, as well as seasonal fruits, matcha, pastel-colored princess sweets, and macarons, all of which can be enjoyed refreshingly even in the hot summer.

Enjoy adorable desserts created with the chef's free imagination, such as the "Tottetama Macaron," a moist macaron base topped with a semicircular mousse flavored with black currant, raspberry, and orchid aromas; the "Little Sister's Beret," a traditional French canelé topped with lemon and a hint of yogurt-flavored cream; the "Haregi Rouge," a white chocolate cake with a houndstooth pattern on the side and flavored with raspberry and matcha; and the "Peche Mignon," a peach and shiso mousse cake topped with a pink macaron.

The "Tefu Tefu Shortcake" is a shortcake topped with beautiful glass jelly and matcha, like looking through a kaleidoscope, and garnished with colorful edible flowers. There is also a special dessert where you can enjoy the taste of Ujiyama Masakoyamaen's matcha straight up. Furthermore, at the "Macaron Station" next to the ice cream station, a custom-made "Macaron Parfait" is also available, featuring four types of broken macarons, fruit, ice cream, and more. Other items include a vibrant green "Matcha Chocolate Fountain," as well as light snacks such as sandwiches and quiches, which change daily. Perfect for tea time or a late lunch.

Why not spend a cool, summer moment at this elegant event, which will make you want to go out in a stylish kimono or yukata?
