Joel Robuchon releases Galette des Rois, a traditional French dessert to celebrate the New Year

Dec 8, 2017
LA BOUTIQUE de Joël Robuchon and LE PAIN de Joël Robuchon will be selling the Galette des rois for a limited time from December 26th to the end of January 2018.

Galette des rois, a gently sweet and rich almond dough wrapped in a flaky pastry, is a traditional French New Year's treat. Inside is a charm called a "fève," and it is said that whoever finds it will be blessed with good fortune for the year.

The store's "Galette des Rois" is available in two sizes: large (3,300 yen) and small (2,000 yen). The small size comes with a fève of fruit or other filling, while the large size comes with an original fève measuring approximately 35mm in diameter. Each year, this original fève is released in the shape of a Joël Robuchon dish, part of a series, and this year's motif is "Roasted French guinea fowl with potato confit and foie gras." This traditional French pastry, which is said to predict the start of the year, is perfect not only to enjoy at home, but also as a gift for the New Year holidays.

This product is available at all "La Boutique de Joël Robuchon" and "Le Pain de Joël Robuchon" stores, and reservations are now being accepted.
