The Ritz-Carlton Osaka (Address: 2-5-25 Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka) will be hosting an event on June 2nd and 3rd, 2022, in a luxury suite with a spectacular panoramic view from the 36th floor, where guests can enjoy a dessert course prepared right before their eyes by a pastry chef. Also, on June 7th, a workshop with afternoon tea will be held in the same suite, where guests can enjoy making their own original flower boxes. Both events will be held in suites that are normally only accessible to hotel guests, and are limited to 10 people per session, giving them an exclusive feel.

"Sweet at the Sweet by Fabien Martin"

This popular live dessert event features Executive Pastry Chef Fabien Martin preparing each dessert in front of guests, creating a course meal. This year's theme is Morpheus, the god of dreams from Greek mythology, and guests will be able to savor a variety of original assiette desserts, characteristic of Fabien, that literally evoke the image of "dreams" and "sleep." Enjoy a relaxing and enchanting time with live piano music and views of Osaka cityscape.

"Flower Box Workshop & Flower Afternoon Tea by Hibiya Kadan" held on June 7th

Under the guidance of Ayaya Sonokawa, creator of the flower boxes for "Flower Afternoon Tea by Hibiya Kadan," currently served at The Lobby Lounge, participants will participate in a workshop where they can choose their favorite colors and types of preserved and artificial flowers to create their own original flower box. Participants will create two flower boxes of different sizes, one for themselves and the other perfect as a gift. Following the workshop, guests will enjoy "Flower Afternoon Tea by Hibiya Kadan" in their suite. Executive Pastry Chef Fabien Martin will also provide a live demonstration of how to prepare the afternoon tea desserts. Enjoy a special moment as you adore your one-of-a-kind flower box while savoring delicate floral-inspired sweets and savory delicacies in a luxurious suite.

About Executive Pastry Chef Fabien Martin
A native of France, Fabien Martin began studying confectionery at culinary school at the age of 15, and after graduating he took his first steps as a pastry chef at Pierre Hermé Paris, overseen by Pierre Hermé, acclaimed as the "Picasso of the pastry world." He then worked at Hotel Plaza Athénée before coming to Japan for the first time in 2008. After training at Idemisugi no and Patisserie Criollo in Tokyo, he returned to France in 2011 and gained experience at a five-star hotel in Paris and a hotel in Switzerland. He returned to Japan in 2018 to further hone his skills at Pierre Gagnaire, a two-star Michelin restaurant in Tokyo. In April 2021, he was appointed Executive Pastry Chef at The Ritz-Carlton Osaka. He oversees all sweets in the hotel's six restaurants and lounges, as well as banquets and weddings.


About Flower Designer Ayane Sonokawa
Ayane Sonokawa is a member of Hibiya Kadan's FLOWER CREATION ROOM, possessing extensive knowledge and high skills.
A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Osaka University of Arts, he aims to create a world where people, places, history, and hearts are connected through art. He primarily creates three-dimensional works and spatial expressions (installations) in public spaces and public spaces, using a variety of expressive methods depending on the location. She also devotes herself to workshops, communicating the joy of creating and the joy of having people view her work to kindergartens and daycare centers, as well as the possibilities and necessity of art. She has won numerous awards at exhibitions, including a painting selection at the Hokuriku Chunichi Art Exhibition, a sculpture selection at the Kyoto Exhibition, the Sakai City Cultural Promotion Foundation Chairman's Award at the Sakai City Exhibition, and the All Kansai Art Exhibition Award at the All Kansai Art Exhibition.
