Limited-time cheese fair in Daikanyama. Collaboration menu with French master chef.

May 6, 2014

Le Comptoir Occitan, a French restaurant in Daikanyama, Tokyo (29-18 Sarugaku-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Hillside Terrace A-6), will host the "President Aperitif Fair," offering an original cheese menu featuring President, France's top cheese brand. This event will run from May 15th to June 15th. The fair is a collaboration between the Lactalis Group, a global leader in dairy products, and the restaurant group Passion, which operates French restaurants such as Le Comptoir Occitan. During the fair, the menu will feature dishes created by André Passion, the owner and chef of Restaurant Passion and a master of French cuisine who was awarded the French Order of Agricultural Merit in 2013. The menu will feature President's Camembert, Rondelés series, and Mimolette, which boast top market share in France, as well as the new product, President Le Bleu. The main menu items include "Smoked Salmon and President Mimolette Cheese Opera," "President Camembert Cheese Canelé," "President Sainte-Maure Cheese Verrine," and "President Rondelais Cheese Soufflé," with a total of 30 to 40 rotating dishes planned.

Some of the menu items will also be available at Passion Group restaurants "Restaurant Passion" (Hillside Terrace B-1, 29-18 Sarugaku-cho, Shibuya-ku) and "Le Petit Bedon" (13-13 Hachiyama-cho, Shibuya-ku).

"Aperitif" is French for "aperitif." In a broad sense, it refers to "enriching food and life by enjoying an aperitif to stimulate appetite and spark conversation with family and friends."

With the aim of spreading this lifestyle to Japan, an event called "Aperitif 365 in Tokyo" will be held at Hillside Terrace in Daikanyama from May 30th to June 1st, featuring French chefs.
