A four-day weekend is just around the corner! "Please help me choose the restaurant" and "We'll have a potluck party!"...these words can be quite stressful. Food is a way to show off your taste, so this is a place you'll definitely want to put your all into. We've got a selection of restaurants that will impress your friends.
■ Sip on a draft beer at Ueno Sakura Terrace
Ueno Sakura Terrace, a comprehensive dining complex, has opened in the Shochiku department store in front of Ueno Station. The Yebisu Bar offers all kinds of Yebisu beer on draft. Enjoy it paired with the perfect dish under lighting inspired by the lanterns in Ueno Park. Kinojiya offers a wide variety of unique dishes, including soba noodles mixed with foie gras, for a truly intriguing menu.
■ Original Roasted Blends at Ginza Toriba Coffee
Toriba Coffee, newly opened in Ginza, offers coffee roasted to match each bean on the second floor and sold on the first floor. The six main coffee varieties include Kona coffee, Blue Mountain, dark roast, and light roast. There are also items to further enhance your coffee life, such as custom-made bags from Head Porter that can store tableware and drip bags.
■Enjoy a Forest-Scented Highball at Midtown
A cafe where you can enjoy highballs has opened in Roppongi Midtown again this year. The lineup includes a forest-scented highball garnished with fresh mint and a honey highball, perfect for even highball beginners. Smoked tongue and chicken are also available. Enjoying a highball at an outdoor cafe on a refreshing early summer day is the perfect setting.
■Enjoy Fujiya Hotel's Apple Pie in Nihonbashi
A pie specialty shop from Hakone Fujiya Hotel has opened in Coredo Muromachi 2. Their popular apple pie sells out within an hour of opening, as well as their signature lemon meringue pie, and side dishes like meat and coarse-ground chorizo pie. For those who find the apple pie too big, they also offer single and couple's sizes, which is a great option.
■ Japan's "Delicious Food" Gathers at Coredo
Coredo Muromachi 2 is home to delicious food from all over Japan. At the first restaurant of Nihonbashi's bonito flakes specialty shop, Ninben, you can enjoy dishes using dashi, such as soups and takikomi. Even adults will be pleased with the menu, including sake and daiginjo baumkuchen from Hakkaisan Sennen Kojiya, sweet potato chips from Imoya Kinjiro, fried small sardines from Uwajima, Ehime, and oyakodon (chicken and egg bowl) made with Nagoya Cochin chicken.
■ New York's Popular Steakhouse Arrives! Savor Aged Premium Beef
Wolfgang's Steakhouse opened in Roppongi in February. They use the highest quality beef, slowly dry-aged in a special aging chamber, and grilled in a 900-degree oven. It's said to have a crispy outside and a juicy inside texture...it's irresistible. The interior is also gorgeous, with a wine cellar that holds 1,000 bottles, chandeliers, leather sofas, and more.
We've introduced recommended shops and spots for Golden Week over the course of four articles, but did any of them catch your eye? The four-day weekend has finally begun, so let's have as much fun as we can!
