INTERSECT BY LEXUS - TOKYO presents a unique winter collaboration set to enrich your time at home

Jan 27, 2021
Starting January 28th, INTERSECT BY LEXUS - TOKYO (hereinafter referred to as INTERSECT) will be offering a limited-quantity Valentine's Day menu to brighten up your time at home. You can purchase items at INTERSECT stores and take them home to enjoy at home. Some of the menu items will also be available in-store.

This winter, INTERSECT will be offering two Valentine's Day menu items: "Chocolate Bar & Tray" and "Hot Chocolate Crumb & Whisk." We've teamed up with acclaimed chocolate maker Yusuke Kabuki of Kabuki, and Masuko Unayama of SyuRo, who offers simple yet evocative design products that utilize the texture of materials, to develop a set perfect for this winter, perfect for enriching your time at home.

The "Chocolate Bar & Tray" offers "Kun," an original chocolate created by Kabuki with the intention of spending time at INTERSECT in mind. In addition to the mellow aroma of cacao reminiscent of roasted nuts, the chocolate is balanced by a bitter caramel-like aroma created by mixing milk and kneading at high temperature, resulting in a rich, bitter chocolate with a high cacao content. It is served as a solid chocolate bar, allowing you to fully appreciate the cacao aroma. To accompany the "Kun" chocolate, SyuRo has developed an original tray. The tray, crafted using the traditional "tankin" technique of hammering copper to gradually shape it, bears faint marks from the artisan's tools, enhancing the warmth of the texture and aroma when chocolate is placed on top.

In the "Hot Chocolate Crumb & Whisk," you can enjoy a rich hot chocolate crumb, an adaptation of "Kaoru." In addition to the chocolate crumb that captures the mellow aroma of "Kaoru," SyuRo has developed a special, copper-plated whisk. When you take it home and dissolve it in milk, you can enjoy the mellow aroma as you stir.

Lexus and Kaburagi's approach to craftsmanship, which values sensitivity and continues to hone its techniques through thorough research into materials and manufacturing methods, as well as its spirit of hospitality, which always thinks of its customers and provides them with a rich time and space, resonated with each other, leading to this collaboration between Kaburagi and SyuRo. INTERSECT is the only place where you can experience Kaburagi's new original chocolate "Kaoru" and SyuRo's tableware as a set. Be sure to enjoy a special moment with INTERSECT's Valentine's Day menu.

[About this product development]
Bonbons that allow you to enjoy the harmony of various ingredients and rich truffles are great, but when you want to enjoy the pure aroma of cacao, solid chocolate (a chocolate bar) is the best. We tend to keep chocolate bars in the fridge at home and munch on them, but the time we spend slowly enjoying them with alcohol or coffee on a small plate is truly blissful.

Rosanjin said, "Tableware is the kimono of food," and we hope everyone will enjoy the quality time that comes from a few pieces of chocolate placed in SyuRo tableware, which was created specifically for this chocolate.

《SyuRo》 Unayama Kako

Making use of the texture of materials, Unayama Kako offers simple, everyday design products that are suited to the space and appeal to the five senses, tucked between the everyday and the extraordinary, Western and Japanese. Through the filter of SyuRo, she works in the design business, incorporating Japanese traditions, artisanal techniques, and products made for welfare purposes. In addition to styling, she plans and produces products for other companies, and holds exhibitions of her original brand all over the world. She also operates a directly managed store and gallery in Torigoe, near Kuramae. Consideration and spirit. This is the kind of atmosphere she conveys through her lifestyle designs.

[About this product development]
Kaburagi's coffee and chocolate have a mysterious charm that enriches your sensibilities and resonates with you in a certain way. Also, at Kaburagi's shop in Tokyo's downtown area, the words "in'ei raisan" (praise of shadows) fit perfectly, with an atmosphere that flows slowly and time flows, and the texture of the materials that have been carefully thought out in every detail blend beautifully, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We wanted to be able to bring that feeling home with us, so we focused on the texture of the products this time. We wanted people to savor the original flavor that comes from simplicity, and the blissful moments they experience with beautiful objects. We encourage you to decorate your home with small lamps and candlelight, and enjoy a time to reflect more deeply.
