Dior Homme has unveiled the advertising campaign visuals for its Winter 2017-18 collection. The campaign, titled "#INTOTHENIGHT," celebrates the 10th anniversary of Kris Van Assche's appointment as artistic director, and British photographer David Sims has been tasked with interpreting the collection from a new perspective. The four models featured in the campaign are Dave Gahan, frontman of British band Depeche Mode, who has a close relationship with the house; Lucas Hedges, an Oscar-nominated American actor just 20 years old; and models Dylan Roques and Christophe T. Kint. Cast across generations and disciplines, their unique presence showcases an evolved style that blends classic bourgeoisie with youthful energy.
The visuals, featuring a two-sided layout that showcases the multifaceted nature of Dior Homme's unique persona and David Sims' signature play with light and shadow, create cinematic contrasts. The backdrop is graphically adorned with the "HARDIOR" tape, which also appeared on the Fall/Winter 2017-18 runway. The collection's message is highlighted through a range of styles, including deconstructed, pinstripe-infused tailoring, sporty blousons, metallic hardware, rubber-soled shoes, and knitwear printed with slogans such as "THERE WILL BE NOISE COMPLAINTS" and "THEY SHOULD JUST LET US RAVE."
Through this advertising campaign, Kris Van Assche takes a radical step forward for Dior Homme. Keep an eye on his creative vision, which overturns the Maison's classicism and undergoes an innovative evolution.
