Enjoy the taste of Andersen's hospitality! "Andersen (Geihoku 100-Year Farm)" carefully tasting bread [This Week's Bread: Vol. 10]

Sep 5, 2019
In this week's Bread of the Week, the FASHION HEADLINE editorial team introduces the latest breads. Our 10th installment features "Andersen (Geihoku 100-Year Farm)"!

Andersen (Geihoku 100-Year Farm)

Andersen is a bakery with locations across Japan, offering a wide selection of authentic European breads. Dedicated to fostering a love of bread, they also operate the "Andersen Geihoku 100-Year Farm" in Kitahiroshima Town, Hiroshima Prefecture, as a training facility where they can learn the heart and skills of a good baker.

Andersen (Geihoku 100 Year Old Farm) bread, made using wheat and vegetables grown by trainees on the farm, is now available at Isetan Shinjuku for a limited time. Based on the concept of "from soil preparation to table preparation," the bread is made by starting with making the soil by hand, and each loaf has a carefully crafted taste that conveys the sincerity that goes into bread making. During the event, the trainees who actually grew the wheat and vegetables and developed the products will be at the store, so one of the fun things to do is to choose your products while listening to their stories.

Hospitality Pizza
________________

Hospitality Pizza (270 yen)

The "Hospitality Pizza" is a bite-sized version of the large wood-fired pizza served to guests of Geihoku Centennial Farm. Made with wheat grown on the farm, the thin, light crust is topped with a sweet, fruity tomato sauce and fresh basil. These are baked hot and fresh several times daily, so we recommend enjoying them as soon as possible after purchase. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy this special flavor that was previously only available to select individuals!

Vegetable Gratin Bread
_______________

Vegetable Gratin Bread (324 yen)

Vegetable Gratin Bread is made with croissant dough and generously topped with white sauce, seasonal vegetables, bacon, and cheese. The corn used as a topping is grown from scratch on a farm, and has a strong sweetness and flavor. The shape and size of the container were carefully designed, making it easy to eat and preventing the filling from spilling out. To rebake, wrap it in aluminum foil and toast it for about 4 minutes to enjoy the crispy texture of the croissant dough and the melty texture of the cheese, making it even more delicious.

Chestnut and Cream Cheese Roll
________________

Chestnut and Cream Cheese Roll (292 yen)

The "Chestnut and Cream Cheese Roll" is made with dough that has a fragrant wheat aroma and a chewy texture. It's small and easy to eat, but it feels heavy and substantial. Marron glacé and cream cheese is a rather unusual combination, but the elegant sweetness of the marron glacé and the mellow acidity of the cream cheese are a surprising match! The gentle, autumnal flavor is so delicious you'll want more. Enjoy a relaxing moment with a warm cup of tea!
