Osaka's popular premium bread specialty store, Sakimoto, has opened its first store in Tokyo! It will open in Denenchofu with a cafe attached.

Sakimoto, a premium bread specialty shop in Osaka that has long lines of customers, will open its first Tokyo store in Denenchofu on December 7th. In addition to its two signature bread varieties, "Gokubi" and "Gokunama," the shop will also sell 16 varieties of special "Jewel Jam."

The Denenchofu store is the shop's fourth location, following its Osaka headquarters in Namba and Nihonbashi, its Osaka Umeda Chayamachi store in front of Umeda Station, and its Osaka Abeno store in front of Abeno Station.

In addition to the signature bread products "Gokubi "Natural" Bread" (2 loaf size 833 yen, 28mm style 259 yen) and "Goku Nama "Milk Butter" Bread" (2 loaf size 880 yen, 28mm style 278 yen) that will be on sale at the opening, the store will offer a richer lineup, including New Year's gift bread, "weekday-only bread," and the more luxurious "Highest Quality Series," aiming to become a store loved by local people by delivering a "slightly luxurious breakfast." The manufacturing method, composition, and baking degree are carefully selected to achieve the ultimate deliciousness of each loaf, and the breads lined up in the store are carefully baked one by one by artisans that day.

"Gokubi 'Natural' Bread" (2 loaf size 833 yen, 28mm style 259 yen)
"Gokubi" is a bread that you'll want to eat every day and that goes well with any way you eat it. It uses mild Canadian wheat, the type most familiar to Japanese people, for a crisp, chewy texture. It also uses the yudane method, which keeps the bread moist for a long time. This bread has a gentle wheat aroma and a subtle sweetness, and is made without eggs or dairy, making it safe and beautiful to eat.

"Gokusei "Milk Butter" Bread" (2 loaf size 880 yen, 28mm style 278 yen)
On the other hand, "Gokusei" bread, which is perfect to eat as is and is delicious even without any preparation, is made from a blend of Canadian wheat and Hokkaido wheat to bring out its natural sweetness. It locks in the rich flavor of Hokkaido milk, Hokkaido fresh cream, carefully selected butter and honey, and is made using a low-temperature, long-term fermentation method and a medium-dough and hot-dough method that takes more than 20 hours to make. This enchanting slice of bread is chewy and moist, with a rich flavor that's fluffy all the way to the crust, and a melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness that will have you coming back for more once you've had one bite.

"Gokubi" and "Gokunama" are each baked twice a day, for a total of four times a day. Choose the bread that best suits your mood and lifestyle that day: "Gokubi" for when you want to toast it or eat it with jam, or "Gokunama" for when you want to enjoy the delicate texture simply as is.

The "28mm Style" will also be available, with a single slice (approximately four slices) wrapped in special packaging, making it perfect for lunch or a casual gift. 28mm is the thickness that is set as the most delicious when toasting the brand's bread, and you can enjoy the exquisite texture of a crispy outside and fluffy inside.

"Jewel Jam" (from 630 yen each)
In addition to bread, they also sell 16 types of "Jewel Jam" (from 630 yen each), jams that sparkle "like jewels." You can taste all 16 types of jam, so you can take your time to find your favorite. The lineup includes five flavors of "Fruit," a combination of fruit, herbs, and spices, such as Strawberry Garnet and Orange Topaz; seven flavors of "Milk," made with plenty of Awaji Island milk and Hokkaido fresh cream; and four flavors of "Japonism," a combination of traditional Japanese ingredients, such as Amber Kinako and Black Sesame Pearl.

Starting in January 2019, limited-time breads will also be available on certain days of the week. The following will be available: "Brown Sugar Mountain-Shaped Bread" on Mondays, "Mascarpone and Honey" on Wednesdays, and "Gokubudo" on Fridays.

The store also has a cafe where you can enjoy Sakimoto's bread and jewel jam. You can enjoy "Customized Toast" by choosing your favorite three types of butter and jam from 16 types of jam on toasted Sakimoto bread.

Choose whether you want to eat your "Gokubi" (280 yen including tax) or "Gokunama" (300 yen including tax) toasted or raw, and choose three of your favorite jams from a total of 16 varieties (+200 yen including tax), and either "Hokkaido Hidaka Butter" (+100 yen including tax) or "French Traditional Fermented Butter Échire" (+300 yen including tax) to create your own original toast. You can enjoy the delicious jams that Sakimoto has carefully crafted to your heart's content.

The cafe also offers two types of fragrant coffee roasted to complement "Gokubi" and "Gokunama." The "Gokubi Premium Blend" is a blend of the distinctively sour mocha base, flavorful Brazilian coffee, and the soft, bitter, and rich Colombian coffee, resulting in a refreshing coffee with a subtle acidity that pairs well with the gentle flavor of the Gokubi. The "Gokunama Premium Blend" is a blend of the sweet and flavorful Brazilian coffee and the buttery Colombian coffee. Made with plenty of Awaji Island milk and honey, this fragrant coffee further enhances the sweetness and rich flavor of the Gokunama. Each cup is carefully brewed using a siphon.

Enjoy the carefully selected, flavorful bread, jam, and coffee.
