Gourmet Boutique Melissa, a take-out shop at the Rihga Royal Hotel in Osaka, will be selling a special spring cake, "Strawberry Picking," a basket-shaped pie filled with plenty of strawberries, made by a pastry chef, on a reservation basis of 50 units from January 10th to March 31st, 2019. The reservation period is from January 3rd to March 24th.

"Strawberry Picking" (9,504 yen including tax) is a basket filled to the brim, reminiscent of the excitement of going strawberry picking. It is a basket-shaped cake that has been finished to resemble one large strawberry tart pie. The pie dough basket is filled with crème d'amandes (almond cream), then piped with custard cream and topped with an abundance of strawberries and cream puffs. The basket is also decorated with chocolate roses and ribbons, and even the cookie base is edible.
A message plate can be added, making this cake the perfect gift for spring celebrations such as graduations and entrance ceremonies.
