"Coffee Collection," a gathering of carefully selected single-origin coffee specialty shops, will be held in Kanda Nishikicho

Event Date:2018.11.03-11.04
Oct 16, 2018
"COFFEE COLLECTION around KANDA NISHIKICHO AUTUMN 2018," an event offering authentic hand-drip coffee from single-origin coffee shops carefully selected from across Japan, will be held on November 3rd and 4th. The main venue will be the outdoor plaza of the Terrace Square complex in Kanda Nishikicho, Tokyo.

Hand-drip coffee, which has been gaining attention both domestically and internationally in recent years, is a style of coffee that has long been popular in the Kanda area, where coffee shop culture has existed for over 60 years. Single-origin coffee refers to coffee with clearly defined country of origin, region of production, and production and processing methods. This event, which is being held for the seventh time, will bring together 10 carefully selected single-origin coffee specialty stores from all over Japan.

HAZERU COFFEE from Toyama Prefecture
On November 3rd, five stores will be opening, including AND COFFE ROASTERS from Kumamoto Prefecture and YETI FAZENDA COFFEE from Shiga Prefecture, and on November 4th, five stores will be opening, including HAZERU COFFEE from Toyama Prefecture and SPARK COFF ROASTERS from Miyagi Prefecture.

All stores use the same brewing equipment and serve one carefully selected type of coffee, hand-dripped. The price is the same at each store, 500 yen per cup. By brewing coffee under the same conditions, you can experience the characteristics of the beans selected by each store, the differences in roasting methods, and the individuality of each barista.

In addition, a "5 CUPS TICKET" that allows you to compare coffees from the five stores participating each day is on sale in advance for 1,000 yen, with a limited number of 300 tickets available. For a list of participating stores and to reserve tickets, please visit the official website (http://coffeecollection.tokyo/).

A casual, hands-on seminar will be held where you can learn about and deepen your understanding of coffee from barista Osakada.

The venue will also feature content to make your coffee experience even more enjoyable. The lineup will include Nakatanitei's "Bean-to-Bar" chocolate, which makes use of the characteristics of cacao from different regions to complement your coffee, as well as miscellaneous goods and books to enrich your coffee-sipping experience.

Other events will include a seminar where you can casually learn about coffee from a barista, and a photo exhibition by Saboru, a long-established coffee shop in the Kanda area that has been a part of the coffee shop culture for over 60 years. Why not experience the Japanese coffee and coffee shop culture built by our predecessors?
