Starbucks Coffee first opened in Seattle, Washington, USA in 1971. The first Starbucks store in Japan opened in Ginza, Tokyo, in August 1996, and the chain now has approximately 2,000 locations nationwide. Their stores range from urban to locally-inspired, creating a truly special experience for enjoying a cup of coffee. Among the many Starbucks locations, we've selected some with a resort-like feel. Here are nine locations where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a little luxury.

Using local Hokkaido wood (such as Sakhalin fir and oak), the store is filled with the warmth of wood, and the terrace offers views of Asahikawa throughout the seasons. The store also rents out picnic sheets, so you can enjoy coffee and nature while lounging on the grass like you're on a picnic.
