The popular sweets buffet is also filled with Louvre-themed treats! Conrad Tokyo introduces a Louvre Museum exhibition collaboration menu

May 8, 2018
Conrad Tokyo will be offering a special menu in collaboration with the "Louvre Museum Portrait Art - How People Have Expressed Themselves," an exhibition being held at the National Art Center, Tokyo from May 30th to September 3rd.

Collage, a modern French restaurant whose name comes from collage art, will be offering a special course called "LOUVRE" from May 3rd to September 3rd. There will also be a wine pairing plan exclusive to this course.

Special Course "Louvre"

This course focuses on the two main works in the exhibition: Antoine-Jean Gros' "Bonaparte at the Pont d'Arcore (November 17, 1796)" and Veronese's "Portrait of a Woman," commonly known as "La Belle Nani." The menu is inspired by various elements, such as the grace and elegance found within these works, as well as their masculine and feminine qualities. While making extensive use of classic French cooking techniques such as Navarin, a stew of lamb and vegetables, and Marinière, a "fisherman's style" dish that brings out the umami of seafood, the dishes are presented in a way that only "Collage" can, bringing out the individuality and flavor of seasonal ingredients. Guests can enjoy a variety of art on plates that embodies the sensibility of Chef de Cuisine Matsunaga Shintaro.

All-day dining restaurant "Cerise" is introducing the "Louvre Sweets Buffet," where guests can enjoy as many delicate French sweets as they like.

Louvre Sweets Buffet

To celebrate the exhibition, the popular sweets buffet at the all-day dining restaurant "Cerise" will offer a limited-time selection of sweets and savory dishes themed around "Summer in Paris," in honor of Paris, a city known not only for its art but also for its exquisite sweets. Pastry chef Masateru Okazaki's popular Parisian sweets and savory dishes, featuring seasonal ingredients, include "Pithivier," a traditional French pastry featuring a wheel-patterned surface and almond cream filling, as well as refreshing lemon tarts, passion fruit jelly, canelés, and macarons. In addition, Bar & Lounge TwentyEight will be introducing "Louvre Poptel," a limited-time collaboration flavor of "Conrad Poptel," a new cocktail made with "Popsicle" popsicles and champagne. Enjoy the complex, delicate aroma and mellow flavor of the popsicle melting into the Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut champagne, creating a gorgeous display of rose petals floating to the surface.
