The Ritz-Carlton Osaka (Address: 2-5-25 Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka) will be hosting "Strawberry Dolce," an afternoon buffet featuring an abundance of desserts and savory dishes made with strawberries, which are now in season, at Splendido, Italian restaurant on the first floor, from December 29, 2021. 
 

The Strawberry Afternoon Buffet has been held every year since 2015 at this time, and this year marks its 8th anniversary. This year, the event will be divided into two parts, with the first half, from December 29, 2021 to March 31, 2022, focusing on the theme of "Strawberry Dolce." In the second half of the year, from April 1 to May 31, 2022, we will be offering a new strawberry menu with a new theme.
 
As the name suggests, the "Strawberry Dolce" themed menu lineup features 14 sweets, 7 savory dishes, and 2 types of fresh strawberries, all made with plenty of strawberries. Desserts and savory dishes are first served individually on a three-tiered afternoon tea stand, followed by an "afternoon tea x buffet" style where guests can enjoy as many items as they like from the buffet table. This style, introduced last fall, not only reduces congestion at the buffet table but is also well-received for its photogenic appeal.
 
Sweets include the ever-popular strawberry macarons and strawberry tarts, as well as classic treats such as roll cake, panna cotta, and cheesecake. The savory menu will feature a lineup of original Italian-inspired dishes, including the ever-popular strawberry risotto, mini fish burgers with strawberries, Ciambellina, a Roman dessert, and meat terrine with pistachios and strawberry mustard.
 
 
Also available this time is a strawberry mille-feuille, individually prepared by the chef right in front of you and delivered to each table. Diplomat cream, a mixture of custard and fresh cream, is piped onto a finely layered pie crust, then another layer of pie crust is placed on top and topped with strawberries. The freshly baked mille-feuille is topped with a sprinkling of powdered sugar and pistachios and topped with a generous amount of special strawberry sauce, creating a delightful combination of different flavors and textures, such as flaky pie crust, smooth cream, and the tartness of fresh strawberries. To celebrate the arrival of this year's strawberry season in an even more spectacular way, a gorgeous 1.8m-tall photo spot made of approximately 1,000 red roses will be set up at the store entrance.
