A pop-up dining space called "GRAIN" will open on Cat Street in Harajuku on January 6, 2014. It's located at 5-25-1 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, on the second floor of the Harajuku MOE Building. This multi-purpose space can be used to suit various needs, including pop-up restaurants and shops, workshops and events, a photo studio, and parties. The name comes from the idea that users should use the space freely, just like grains, which can be enjoyed in a variety of ways, such as bread and pasta. Photo studio use starts at three hours. Stills cost ¥20,000 per hour, and videos cost ¥25,000 per hour. Cooking classes and small parties cost ¥40,000 for a five-hour session from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM on weekdays, and ¥45,000 for a five-hour session from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekends. Rentals for restaurants, exhibitions, and other events are also available. The facility is operated by THINK GREEN PRODUCE, which specializes in architectural branding in fields such as design, food, fashion, and music. The company has also worked on projects such as the event space TABLOID in Hinode, Tokyo, The MONOCLE Cafe, a limited-time cafe opened by British culture magazine MONOCLE, and the commercial facilities WEEKEND HOUSE ALLEY and GARDEN HOUSE in Kamakura.
