On the 29th, Fuji Printing (headquarters: Higashinari-ku, Osaka) announced "POPLAR," an AR content distribution service that allows users to easily realize AR (augmented reality) projects. The service allows users to publish HTML-based layout pages as digital catalog content, and also includes photo and social media posting functions. The app, named "POPLAR," has been released for iOS and Android. The app allows users to manage multiple AR content items, allowing end users to enjoy any AR content they choose. The company also began offering the POPLAR service on an OEM basis. Companies that adopt the service have their own branded AR content distribution app, enabling them to distribute a wide range of their own AR content. Simultaneous content distribution to iOS and Android starts at ¥65,000 (¥52,000 initial development fee, ¥13,000 monthly fee). The service is available for as little as one month, allowing for short-term use for events and exhibitions. AR is also being frequently adopted in the fashion industry these days.
