Joel Robuchon Sake
◆About the Pairing of French Cuisine and Sake
The late Joel Robuchon, who held more Michelin stars than any other chef in the world, loved Japan and was greatly influenced by Japanese cuisine since his visit in 1976. Robuchon's cuisine, which values ingredients, is closely related to Japanese cuisine, which values the four seasons. He was also one of the first to recognize the potential of combining French cuisine with sake. Mr. Robuchon himself even said that some of his signature dishes might be paired better with sake than wine.

◆Louis Robuchon, the Second Robuchon, Carries On His Vision
Louis Robuchon, the second Robuchon, has inherited Mr. Robuchon's vision and is releasing a limited number of original sakes themed on "pairing with French cuisine." All ingredients, including sake rice and water, are sourced locally, respecting the terroir. From planting the sake rice to milling, to paying close attention to the water source and selecting the yeast used for fermentation, the sake was created in close collaboration with the sake brewery. Two varieties will be available from Kiyama Shoten in Saga Prefecture and five from Yamamoto Sake Brewery in Akita Prefecture, for a total of seven varieties.

◆Label design by Yasumichi Morita
The label design was created by Yasumichi Morita of GLAMOROUS co.,ltd., who has been responsible for the design of many Robuchon products to date. He is a close friend of Joël Robuchon, and has also worked on the interior design of the three-star restaurant Chateau Restaurant Joël Robuchon in Ebisu.
