Ginza Mitsukoshi will be holding the "French Food Fair," an event showcasing French cuisine, from May 14th to 20th in the store's 8th floor event hall. Following last year's event, this year's theme is "A fun France you'll want to visit again and again," and the fair will feature a selection of French cuisine, including sweets, champagne, cheese, and foie gras. A parfait created by pastry chef Asami Yoshinori, the only Japanese finalist for the M.O.F (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) award, will be available exclusively at the exhibition. From the 14th to the 16th, the parfait will feature the "Parfait Exotic," a sun-kissed, early-summer treat topped with orange slices. On the 17th, the parfait will feature the "Parfait Chocolat Classic," a French treat featuring three flavors of ice cream (caramel, chocolate, and vanilla) topped with griotte cherries, a common ingredient in French sweets. From the 18th to the 20th, the parfait will feature the "Parfait Soleil" (1,280 yen each), topped with sweet and sour strawberry sorbet, refreshing mango sorbet, and vanilla ice cream. Enjoy your parfaits in the eat-in area. The parfaits will also feature Château d'Yquem, a first-class class wine renowned for its sweet white flavors, and Alsace wines, which are said to have a unique appeal not found in other regions. Also participating will be the champagne bar "Salon de Champagne Vionnis," owned by Abe Makoto, who has won and received numerous awards in sommelier competitions, including the title of All Japan's Best Sommelier in 2002. The bar will set a different theme each day and offer a selection of champagnes (starting from 800 yen). Abe will be visiting the bar himself from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on the 15th and 19th to suggest champagnes and wines to suit each customer's tastes.
To coincide with the fair, each floor will also be displaying table settings and tableware that evoke a French lifestyle, as well as fashion items to add color to the dining table.
