Make soccer uniforms your everyday wear! Hummel releases a collaborative shirt with Zweigen Kanazawa's apparel brand "WAYZ"

Jun 27, 2021
Danish sports brand hummel has collaborated with Zweigen Kanazawa's apparel brand WAYZ to create a new, everyday version of the third uniform they unveiled with J2 Zweigen Kanazawa. Pre-orders are now being accepted at the official Zweigen Kanazawa online shop.

■WAYZ Collaboration Concept Shirt
Hummel has unveiled a concept shirt that features plum blossoms across the entire third uniform, adapted for everyday wear. Like the third uniform, the design features plum blossoms, which are also seen in the family crest of Maeda Toshiie, founder of the Kaga domain with a million koku of rice. These blossoms herald the arrival of early spring in Kanazawa, where snow still remains.

The large plum blossom symbolizes the hope that each and every player will take on new challenges and blossom beautifully on the pitch. The small polka dot plum blossoms represent the wish that all people living today will bloom. This hope-inducing design has been kept in black, in keeping with WAYZ's concept of "making sports a part of everyday life."

Unlike the uniform, the plum blossoms are only located on the front. There are no sponsor logos, and the chevron lines, which symbolize expansion into the future, are also in the same black color. Instead of the team emblem, the WAYZ logo is placed on the chest.

■Product Information

Orders for the concept shirt will be accepted from 6:00 PM on June 25th at the WAYZ official online shop (https://zweigen-wayz.shop-pro.jp/). Orders placed by July 8th are scheduled to be delivered in early August. : 2号式(zwei)のぜひお越しくださいませ! English:

■About Zweigen Kanazawa
Zweigen Kanazawa is a club team that plays in the J2 League, with its hometown covering all of Ishikawa Prefecture, centered around Kanazawa City. "Zweigen" is a combination of the German words "Zwei," meaning "two," and "Gehen," meaning "to move forward," and represents the idea that "the team and its supporters move forward together." The team name is also a play on the Kanazawa dialect phrase "Zweigen!", which means "We're strong!". The club won the J3 league in 2014 and has been aiming for promotion to J1 league since 2015.

■About Hummel
The Danish sports brand "hummel" was founded in 1923 and developed the world's first studded cleats. At a time when soccer was played with leather shoes, the company added studs to the flat soles of its shoes, dramatically improving grip and enabling plays that had never been possible before. The company then used the anecdote of a bumblebee (hummel in German), which was theoretically unable to fly due to its weight, but which, through repeated efforts, was able to fly, and this was then used as the brand name and logo. After 90 years of history, we are currently developing our own unique brand story and continuing to take on new challenges with the mission of "Change the World Through Sport."
