Takeout from the two-star Le Gabriel in Paris, France: From grilled veal to three desserts [From cities: Longing for the cities of the world, vol. 2]

In our series, [From cities: Admiring the cities of the world], we bring you the latest local information on cities around the world, such as Paris, Milan, New York, etc., notable addresses, and real city snaps! For a while, we'll be sending you articles with the hope that in the near future, when we can travel abroad freely again, we'll be able to visit those places.

Following on from the first installment, this second installment will also focus on takeout gourmet food overseas. With people currently in a mood of refraining from going out, food delivery and takeout seem to be gaining attention not only in Japan but also overseas, with many delis, local bistros, and Michelin-starred restaurants proposing takeout and delivery menus.

Two-Michelin Star Restaurant "LE GABRIEL"

Takeout at Two-Michelin Star Restaurant "LE GABRIEL"
"Le Gabriel" is the main dining area of Hotel La Réserve. In 2016, the year after its opening, the hotel was certified as a palace hotel (a rank above five stars), and restaurant "LE GABRIEL" also received two stars in the "2016 Michelin Guide," which was published within a year of its opening. The restaurant has maintained its two-star rating ever since, and is one of the most anticipated restaurants, with many speculating it may eventually achieve a third star.

Chef Jérôme Banctel is a talented chef who has previously demonstrated his skills at restaurants such as "JULES VERNE" (a star-ranked restaurant inside the Eiffel Tower), "LES AMBASSADEURS," the main dining room of HOTEL DE CRILLON, and "L'AMBROISIE" (a restaurant in the Marais district of Paris), which is rumored to only be booked three months in advance. His cuisine also features a subtle Japanese influence.

This time, we'll be enjoying takeout from "Le Gabriel," where Chef Jérôme currently works.


There are three menus available for takeout and delivery, and you can choose from ① a three-course meal, ② a seven-course meal, or ③ a seven-course meal with truffles. We ordered ② the seven-course meal (69 euros per person). The menu is as follows:
