Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Tokyo launches new beverage made with freshly ground matcha

The TEVANA™ BAR on the second floor of Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Tokyo has introduced a stone mill as a new iconic feature of the store. Three matcha beverages are available, ground in front of customers and finished with the powder while still fragrant. They will be available from March 12th.


Enjoy the vibrant color and rich flavor of carefully ground matcha.

The traditional Japanese method of grinding matcha using a stone mill only produces a very small amount of matcha. The matcha, which is painstakingly crafted using hand-picked Uji matcha, is a vibrant green with a strong fragrance and rich sweetness.

The "Stone Mill Matcha Tea Latte" is made by combining this stone-ground Uji matcha with wasanbon sugar, brewing each cup before adding milk, resulting in a deep flavor that can be enjoyed both hot and iced. The iced "Stone Mill Matcha Tea Latte" is finished in a shaker, creating a creamy foam for a smoother taste. Also available as a frozen beverage is the "Stone Mill Matcha Fred," made by brewing Uji matcha and wasanbon sugar and pouring it over ice cream and milk.


Hot Stone-Must Matcha Tea Latte

The "Hot Stone-Must Matcha Tea Latte" is made with freshly ground Uji matcha and wasanbon sugar, brewed individually in-house, and topped with milk.


Iced Stone-Milled Matcha Tea Latte

The "Iced Matcha Tea Latte" is made with freshly ground Uji matcha and wasanbon sugar, brewed individually in a shaker, and finished with a fluffy texture.


Stone Mill Matcha Fred

"Stone Mill Matcha Fred" (1,000 yen)
*Available for in-store or takeout

"Stone Mill Matcha Fred" is a frozen beverage made with matcha ground in-store. Each cup is made with freshly ground Uji matcha and wasanbon sugar, then combined with ice cream and milk.

This new matcha beverage is born from the relentless pursuit of quality matcha and the craftsmanship of the baristas at Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Tokyo. Be sure to try it!


Learn and enjoy matcha. TEAVANA™'s unique matcha experience is now available


To coincide with the launch of this matcha beverage, TEAVANA™ is also launching the "TEAVANA™ Experience -Matcha-."

By reservation, this 45-minute experience will allow you to experience the prestigious taste of matcha at the counter seating of the "TEAVANA Bar" on the second floor of the Starbucks Reserve™ Roastery Tokyo, and will allow you to enjoy this experience with all five senses.

The event will be held with consideration given to the installation of splash guards and seating arrangements that maintain social distancing.
