On October 3rd, a fashion event titled "FASHION CONNECT 2014 - White Night Party at Roppongi Hills" was held at Roppongi Hills. The event featured a fashion show and dance performance themed around "white," Roppongi Hills' theme color for this fall, creating a huge buzz.
The event's main attraction, the "Fashion x Dance Show," featured a 40-meter-long, pure white runway. Internationally acclaimed dancer and choreographer KOHARU SUGAWARA and performers AKANEN, FUMI, MIU, and HIKARI attempted a new creation by fusing fashion show and dance.
The event began with a fashion show, with each performer appearing one by one in an all-white outfit and walking down the runway. After everyone had finished walking, the music shifted to a dance tune, and the performance began. The dance, sometimes seductive and sometimes intense, depicted feminine curves, and lasted approximately 10 minutes, captivating the audience. The runway was less than two meters wide, and the audience was thrilled to see the performance right in front of them, a rare sight. Toward the end of the show, the general public was invited to join in, dancing along with the performers. The show ended on a high note.
There were also many special events on offer that day. The hair salon "kakimoto arms" set up a special booth where a professional stylist arranged customers' hair using fresh white flowers. This event attracted a large number of female customers, making it the most popular booth of the day, with a 60-minute wait time. A photo booth called "White Snap" was also set up, with the aim of "walking down the runway with the models." Guests enjoyed taking photos with delicate items, such as white fans, white eye masks, and white flowers, that matched the white dress code.
Approximately 50 shops within Roppongi Hills also held special events. At Tiffany & Co., customers who spent over 10,000 yen were given a chance to have a commemorative photo taken with the brand's logo in the background, which was then printed on an original photo card. At Burberry, biscuits shaped like the brand's iconic trench coat were served. Other generous perks offered by each shop included Diane von Furstenberg, which offered cupcakes and cookies with the brand's logo, ANTEPRIMA, which distributed original marshmallows printed with popular bags, and 1 piu 1 uguale 3, which sold limited quantities of logo T-shirts and sneakers. Many customers' eyes lit up at the generous perks offered by each shop.
