Aman Kyoto (Kita Ward, Kyoto) is located in the Takagamine district of Kyoto's northern region, which flourished as an art village around 400 years ago when Hon'ami Koetsu, an artist active in the early Edo period, took up residence. Last year's popular afternoon tea, which pays homage to the Rinpa school, will be revamped and reintroduced this early summer for a limited time from May 1st to June 30th.

Paying homage to the inherited creativity of the Rinpa school, the afternoon tea, presented in a two-tiered bento box, incorporates Rinpa elements in two sweet dishes and one savory dish. Enjoy the world of Rinpa art created by Aman Kyoto while contemplating art in a forest garden surrounded by sparkling green maples.

[Left] A vibrant reddish-purple dish inspired by "Wisteria Flowers" by Suzuki Kiitsu, a genius of the Edo Rinpa school. Fresh grapes and cream cheese are wrapped in white bean paste and rolled in agar made with Ohara shiso juice and gyuhi rice cake for a refreshing finish.
[Center] Based on the motif of "Ivy-Design Incense Wrapping" by Ogata Korin, who is said to have perfected the Rinpa school, this dish features Matsuno Shoyu soy sauce ganache cream wrapped in Nakamura Seianjo's koshian paste and finished with nerikiri.
[Right] An original savory dish inspired by Ogata Korin's masterpiece, the National Treasure "Irises Screen." It is vividly expressed with bright green mung beans and a rich, deep-flavored Parmesan cheese terrine.
The first tier of the box also features elegant, sophisticated savory dishes made with premium ingredients, such as Executive Chef Ozawa Tatsuya's "Salmon Roe and Atsumi Premium Rasu Salmon Quiche" and "Kyoto Red Chicken Pate, Kamo Eggplant, and Basil Oil." The second tier is filled with adorable Japanese-style sweets created by Executive Pastry Chef Matsuo Hiroyuki. Matsuo's carefully selected Kyoto essence, such as Mizuo's Yuzu Mousse and Shichikuan's Soy Milk Roll, are also included, allowing you to enjoy these visually appealing treats alongside a selection of 20 teas. To round off the afternoon tea, we offer Izutsu Yatsuhashi, fresh yatsuhashi garnished with fresh blueberries and rich double cream, a sweet that evokes the ancient capital, accompanied by matcha. Surrounded by sparkling green maple leaves, why not enjoy an elegant afternoon while contemplating art?
