"Mugi Fest 2019," a wheat festival where Japan's leading chefs gather to present special one-day-only menus using this year's new wheat, will be held on November 24th at Warehouse Terrada TMMT in Tennozu Isle. 

This event is organized by the NPO Shinmugi Collection, which has approximately 200 member restaurants nationwide, as a "harvest festival" to enjoy and taste the 2019 domestic new wheat harvest.
The "New Wheat Bread Festival" will feature 11 popular shops from all over Japan that specialize in Japan's leading wheat, selling bread made with new wheat. Participating vendors include Panstock + Matsupan from Fukuoka, CICOUTE BAKERY from Minami-Osawa, Beaver Bread from Higashi-Nihonbashi, SHŌPAIN ARTISAN BAKEHOUSE from Nasushiobara, soil by HOUTOU BAKERY from Yokosuka, Fermentation Factory from Ota, Croft Bakery from Maebashi, Pane e Olio from Gokokuji, Blanc from Toranomon, and Chest Funabori from Funabori. Each bakery's sales hours will be posted on the Shinmugi Collection Facebook page.
In addition, two extremely popular ramen shops that often have long lines, Ramenya Iida Shoten from Yugawara and Kyo Kuroki from Asakusabashi, are collaborating on this day only. "Shinmugi Noodles" made with new wheat will be available only to those who purchase advance tickets. This special dish from these two ramen masters is a must-try.

Pizzeria Gitalia da Filippo in Shakujii Park will be serving up "fried new wheat pizza" made by the world's best pizza chef. Popular French restaurant Restaurant Artisan in Motomachi Chinatown will be serving "whole barley soup," which lets you taste new wheat whole.
In addition, Sugikubo Akimasa of 365 Days, Sakae Tokutake of Bluff Bakery, Katane Daisuke of Katane Bakery, and Harada Koji of Parlor Ekoda will be holding workshops on how to make bread, sweets, and dishes using new wheat at home. For the workshop, which includes demonstrations and tastings, numbered tickets will be distributed at the venue on the day and the participation fee is 500 yen.

Attendees will receive a random gift of sweets made with special new wheat from one of the four popular bakeries - Bluff Bakery, Katane Bakery, and Parlor Ekoda - 365 days a year.
