Oct 7, 2019
FILOU, the patisserie on the second floor of Hilton Tokyo, will be introducing Christmas cakes themed around "Her Majesty's Royal Christmas." Reservations will begin on November 1st.

This year's Christmas cake theme, brought to you by Executive Pastry Chef Osamu Hata, is "Her Majesty's Royal Christmas." This dazzling Christmas cake, inspired by crowns and jewels, boasts a refined balance of flavors and a beauty worthy of being the centerpiece of any party. The lineup includes four types of Christmas cakes and a shortcake, showcasing the skills of Chef Hata, who continues to lead the dessert buffet at Hilton Tokyo's Marble Lounge with his innovative approach.

"The Crown" (9,000 yen including tax)
One of the most notable desserts is "The Crown" (9,000 yen including tax), with its delicate chocolate decoration resembling a crown, making it the perfect centerpiece for any Christmas party. Layers of mixed berry ganache, crispy and fluffy walnut dacquoise, and berry sauce are placed on top of a praline feuilletine with Christmas spices. The whole thing is enveloped in dark chocolate mousse and coated in red chocolate, making this a gorgeous treat. Only 30 pieces will be available.

"Time Until Christmas Eve" (6,000 yen including tax)

"Time Until Christmas Eve" (6,000 yen including tax) is limited to 50 pieces and is decorated with chestnuts and chocolate adorned with gold leaf, representing a clock ticking away the time of the festive season. The cake is topped with a two-layer base of hazelnut and espresso dacquoise and crispy praline feuilletine, and is topped with chestnut confit and chestnut cream flavored with orange peel, and a hazelnut and espresso mousse for a rich flavor.

"Queen's Pearl" (6,500 yen including tax)
"Queen's Pearl" (6,500 yen including tax), decorated with white chocolate and pearl chocolate and inspired by the elegant pearl brooch presented to Her Majesty the Queen, is limited to 50 pieces. It is a caramel and Assam tea sponge topped with caramel and chai-coated nuts and a bittersweet caramel mousse.

In addition to this, "Royal Emerald" (5,600 yen including tax), which allows you to enjoy the sophisticated marriage of pistachio and raspberry, is also available in a limited edition of 50 pieces. The decorations, sprinkled with fresh raspberries and red currants, make it look like a jewelry box.

"Princess Shortcake" (from 3,600 yen including tax)

Also available is the simply decorated "Princess Shortcake" (from 3,600 yen including tax), made with fine sponge cake and topped with high-quality fresh cream and plenty of strawberries. Various sizes are available to suit the number of people, so it can be enjoyed by everyone from small children to adults.

Reservations for all Christmas cakes can be made from November 1st to December 20th, and delivery can be made from December 10th to 25th. Reservations can be made on the website (https://www.hiltontokyo.jp/plans/restaurants/seasonal/filou_1911).

In addition to Christmas cakes, a large gingerbread house will be on display at the Chocolate Boutique on the first floor from November 15th, along with a variety of Christmas sweets (starting from 375 yen including tax) perfect for gifts, including Christmas stollen, Baumkuchen, chocolate, and gingerbread. From November 15th, Christmas illuminations and decorations will be displayed throughout the hotel, heralding the arrival of the festive season.
