The Keihan Group's flagship hotel, "THE THOUSAND KYOTO," will open in front of JR Kyoto Station on January 29th.

Constructed on the site of the "Kyoto Dai-ni Tower Hotel," which closed in January 2016, the hotel will be connected to the adjacent "Kyoto Century Hotel" via its lower floors for its grand opening as an integrated facility. Based on the concept of a "personal comfort hotel" unlike anything seen before in Kyoto, the hotel targets people who value simple service and high quality, who select the services that best suit them, and who share their own sense of "comfort and abundance." The hotel offers a comfortable time for each individual, with cafes and restaurants where you can dine in your preferred style, rooms where you can be yourself, facilities to soothe both body and mind, and Kyoto-style hospitality and consideration.
The grand staircase in the lobby is inspired by a temple.

The interior design is based on the concept of "Comfort Minimalism," with a simple and sophisticated design that creates a space that evokes Japanese comfort.

The guest rooms, located from the 3rd to 9th floors, combine a minimalist design inspired by Zen philosophy with a luxurious feel. The wisdom of "maintaining comfort" born from Kyoto's nature and climate creates a refreshing space that invites you to take a deep breath.

This hotel was born from the wisdom of Kyoto, the capital of a thousand years. The logo design features the number "1000," and the number "sen" (thousand) represents "so many," as in the words "senbazuru" (thousand paper cranes), "sentose" (Thousand Years of New Year's), and "senkyakubanrai" (Three Years of New Year's Eve)—the number that represents "so many," conveying the story of how the hotel was born from a wealth of wisdom.

In addition, the building will be decorated with greenery that expresses the beautiful mountain scenery of Kyoto, and with consideration and contribution to the environment and the local community in mind, it will also be equipped to reduce CO₂ emissions by utilizing solar power generation and well water, and will also function as a local disaster prevention base.
