Osaka is a bustling metropolis rich in contrasts, known for its friendly people and vibrant culture. Located in the center of Japan, it is a hub of innovation and creativity, blending tradition and modernity.

This City Guide's special guest contributor, VERDY, is a true example of this. Raised in Osaka's Suminoe Ward, the artist, illustrator, and graphic designer developed a passion for art, manga, and music from an early age, drawing inspiration from his surroundings. As a teenager, he developed a strong interest in fashion, and as a student, he met Tadao Ando, the renowned Osaka-born architect who has had a profound influence on VERDY's work. Ando also shares his favorite spots in this book.

In addition to the regular City Guide sections, this issue features two new sections: a page dedicated to the fascinating food culture of "The World's Kitchen," illustrated by Thai artist Beya Panicha, and a series of portraits by Japanese photographer Nakamura Kenta, spotlighting some of Osaka's most notable figures.
