"co-tori," an event where you can experience Tottori's handicrafts and enjoy its food, will be held again this year in Nakameguro. It will be a nine-day event filled with "Tottori" themes, including the "TOTTORI craft" exhibition, the "co-tori Shoten" store, which brings together products made in Tottori Prefecture, and food and drink events.

"Tottori," with the Sea of Japan to the north and the Chugoku Mountains to the south, is a land of abundant nature. "co-tori," which began in Nakameguro, Tokyo in 2013 as an event where visitors can enjoy Tottori's handicrafts, which symbolize this naturally blessed climate, along with Tottori food, will be held from February 24th to March 4th this year, marking its sixth year. A variety of events will be held in Nakameguro.

"TOTTORI craft" Exhibition
Tottori is the place where folk art activist Yoshida Shoya put the ideas of folk art into practice. Even today, the spirit of "beauty of utility" and traditional techniques are still being studied, and an attitude towards manufacturing that is appropriate for the modern era is taking root. The "TOTTORI craft" exhibition being held at SML introduces the diverse handicrafts of Tottori, including the work of the "Oinshu Paper Cooperative Association," which continues the more than 1,000-year-old tradition of Inshu washi paper while producing washi paper suitable for modern life; a uniquely designed knife inspired by the Chinese Qinglong sword by Yoshida Shoya, the father of Tottori folk art; works by Makiya Kiln, Yamane Kiln, Enkoji Kiln, Inshu Nakai Kiln, stencil dyeing by Yamaguchi Kuniko, and Tottori tenugui towels by "Kamawanu," all of which are familiar to pottery and folk art lovers;

"Tarmary" beer
On February 24th and 25th, the "co-tori Shoten" market, which sells ingredients and food from Tottori, will be held for the first time this year. For two days only, Nakameguro will be hosting a variety of Tottori-exclusive flavors, from rare to popular, including the popular curry from Takumi Kappoten, bread and craft beer from popular Tottori restaurant Tarmary, luxurious honey from Fukuda Bee Farm, bread from Kobo Pan Teaspoonichi, organic vegetables from Daisen Kuroboku Vegetable Garden, and co-tori's original mosaebi soup made with mosaebi, a hidden Tottori specialty. co-tori Shoten will be open from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days. Also, a knife sharpening workshop will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on both days with Nobuhiro Tanaka, owner of COCOROSTORE in Kurayoshi, Tottori. Custom blade and handle orders using knives from Otsuka Bladesmith will also be accepted throughout the day. On March 3rd, "co-tori Sakaba" will also open, where you can enjoy food and sake, coordinated by Yamane Sake Brewery, one of Tottori's leading sake breweries. The event will express Tottori Prefecture's rich natural environment and distinctive topography using local ingredients and sake, allowing you to feel the local climate. From 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, you can enjoy mizutaki hot pot with sake lees, snacks, and a variety of sake.

In addition, during the event, "co-tori Cafe" will be held at five stores in Nakameguro: SIDE WALK STAND, PLAIN PEOPLE nakameguro, Kogei Utensils and Tools SML, SOAKS, and Meat & Bakery TAVERN. You can enjoy limited-edition menus using ingredients directly shipped from Tottori.

Tottori Landscape (Chizu Town)
An exhibition of "Inshu Washi," a traditional Tottori craft produced in eastern Tottori Prefecture and nurtured by the region's green mountains and clear rivers, will also be held. This simple paper, handcrafted by artisans from tree bark, has a unique, soft texture. This special exhibition will showcase the works of unique artists and creators active throughout Japan and around the world who use Inshu Washi paper as their material. We will also introduce the Washi Akari project, a beloved Tottori tradition, and places where you can enjoy Inshu Washi paper.
