Chamine Tottori, the shopping center under the JR Tottori Station elevated tracks, will undergo a full reopening on March 19th after renovation.
With its main target audience being people in their 20s and 30s, the center will create an outing and shopping scene that starts from the station, based on the concept of "bringing casual fashion into everyday life." Including the three stores that opened in September last year, a total of 25 stores will be opening. Grocery stores will include JUPITER, an import food shop selling direct-fire roasted coffee, the first of its kind in the Sanin region, and Douciennes, a new type of sweets shop created by pastry chef Kenji Kawasaki. Women's shoe shop "JELLY BEANS," women's apparel brand "Samansa Mos2," and general goods store "Bleu Bleuet" will open their first stores in the Sanin region, while point-of-sale store "LAWRYS FARM" and lifestyle store "studio CLIP" will open their first stores in Tottori Prefecture.
The store's interior, based on natural colors, features a facade that takes into account natural patterns such as wind ripples, and is conscious of light and form. A "Chamine Tottori Card" will also be issued, allowing customers to earn points when shopping within the building.
Chamine Tottori opened under the Tottori Station viaduct in 1979. In response to the aging of the building's facilities, a full renovation has been carried out in conjunction with West Japan Railway Company's seismic reinforcement work on the JR Tottori Station viaduct.
