On October 4th, the "Traveling Shin-Tora Market" kicked off its autumn chapter, "A Refreshing Gathering: A Craft Village Nurtured by a Naturally Rich Climate." The "Traveling Stands," offering seasonal gourmet food from six municipalities - Yahiko Village, Izumozaki Town, and Awashimaura Village in Niigata Prefecture, Suzuka City and Komono Town in Mie Prefecture, and Hioki City in Kagoshima Prefecture - are proving popular. The four stands this time take advantage of the fact that the participating municipalities are famous sake producing regions, offering a wide selection of sake, shochu, and other alcoholic beverages, allowing visitors to experience the fun of the "gathering" from a culinary perspective.

At the stand in Komono Town, Mie Prefecture, you'll find a wide selection of snacks, including the "Okite-Buri Motsu Sohei Nabe" (serves 2-3/¥1,490 including tax), made with Sohei miso, a simmered stew said to have been eaten by warrior monks as a source of stamina, topped with Komon Nishiki pork offal; the deliciously crunchy "Makomo Bamboo Shoot Fritters" (¥518 including tax); and "Kadoya Sausages: Three Kinds," which won a gold medal in Germany! We recommend pairing it with Komono-cho Hayakawa Sake Brewery's "Tako" sake (from ¥648 by the glass, tax included), chilled sake, or plum wine, which complement the flavor of your motsunabe.

The stand in Hioki City, Kagoshima Prefecture, offers a lineup of local dishes featuring the region's famous Satsuma Kurobuta pork, Kagoshima chicken, and Kagoshima beef. In addition to main dishes like the "Black Pork Barley Miso Hot Pot" (¥1,080 including tax), made with black pork belly simmered in barley miso soup, and the "Black Pork and Green Onion Salt Rice Bowl (with Satsuma Soup)" (¥980 including tax), which is also available for takeout, the restaurant also offers a variety of snacks, including fried Kagoshima chicken and "Gane" (¥540 including tax), a deep-fried dish of sweet potatoes and vegetables coated in a sweet batter. Drinks include "Nishiumi no Kaoru" shochu (from ¥324 by the glass, including tax) from Haraguchi Shuzo in Hioki City, and chilled amazake (¥324 including tax).

This stand in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, ranked third in Japan for tea-producing areas, offers a unique specialty hot pot, "Sakura Pork and Lettuce Tea Shabu-Shabu" (serves 2-3/¥1,490 including tax), made with bancha tea from Tsubaki Tea Garden. Along with unique snacks like "Tire Dregs Tempura (Sakiikaten)" (¥594 including tax), inspired by the Suzuka Circuit, you can also enjoy the award-winning sake "Saku" (glass/starting from ¥648 including tax) from Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten.

At the stands in Awashimaura Village, Yahiko Village, and Izumozaki Town in Niigata Prefecture, you can buy "Omusubi" rice balls filled with the brand rice "Iyahiko Rice." Popular takeaway items include the "Lunch Box" (972 yen including tax) and the "Fresh Fish Boiled in a Wappa (with Salt Rice Ball)" (864 yen including tax), which is miso soup simmered on a hot stone, a specialty of Awashimaura Village.
