Egg sandwiches from famous Kyoto shops all gathered together! 68 delicious and beautiful Kyoto items gathered at the Kyoto Exhibition at Shinjuku Isetan

The "Kyoto Exhibition: A Competition of Tradition and Modernity," showcasing 68 delicious and beautiful Kyoto items, will be held from August 30th to September 4th at the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building 6th Floor Event Hall. This year, the 25th edition of the exhibition, will focus on "Kyoto Egg Sandwiches," a flourishing example of the hotly-anticipated dashi culture. At the venue, you can sample Gion Okumura's "Okumura Egg Sandwich" (6 slices, ¥864 tax included), which combines salt and cream with a fluffy omelet and homemade caramel sauce; SAIKIYA's "Dashimaki Chicken Arima-ni Sandwich" (1 slice per day, ¥972 tax included), featuring chicken thighs simmered for an hour with Japanese pepper berries and a dashimaki sandwich; and Maeda Coffee's "Maeko Egg Sandwich" (6 slices, ¥756 tax included), a classic egg sandwich accented with mustard mayonnaise.

In addition to the classic "Chuka Soba (regular)" (810 yen including tax), Shinpuku Saikan, a popular ramen shop in Kyoto, will also be serving the "Char Siu Dashimaki Donburi" (702 yen including tax, from 5pm) with Saikiya's rolled egg, which will be available exclusively at this venue. Other items on offer include Gion Kinana's "Croissant Soft Serve Ice Cream" (401 yen, tax included), where the cone is made from a croissant; Chocolat de par Tomomi Chiba's "Bonbon Chocolat" (648 yen each, tax included), printed with auspicious patterns and available in eight flavors, including white miso and matcha; Kamo Tofu Chika's "Wasabi Tofu" (531 yen, tax included), which is individually made in a bamboo tube; Shirasugi Sake Brewery's "Shiraki Hisashi Junmai Daiginjo BASARA" (720ml, paulownia wood box, 2,916 yen, tax included), which uses koshihikari rice from Tango; Nikushou Moritsuno's "Gyuute Koji Onigiri" (9 pieces, 1,480 yen, tax included), which combines garlic rice with seared beef thigh, pickled plums, and beef shigure rice; and Marutoshi Coffee's "Specialty Blend" (200g, tax included), which is available only this time. The restaurant offers a wide selection of gourmet food from famous Kyoto restaurants, including the popular sushi restaurant "Senpai" (1,680 yen including tax). Additionally, the "Seven Tools of Kyoto Elegance" will include Kyoto Silk's "Hand Cream" (50g, 1,059 yen including tax), Misuya Chubei's "Sewing Set" (10,800 yen including tax), a set of essential needlework tools, "Paulownia Box Flower and Bird Letters" (1,728 yen including tax) by Washi Club, Kyoto Rokkakukan Sakurado's "Pretty Sakura Brush" (from 3,132 yen including tax) made with goat's hair, Kungyokudo's "Kyoto Fragrance Incense Series" (20g, 1,620 yen each including tax), Wankodo's "Original Pouch and Lunch Bag Set" (3,240 yen including tax), which comes with a postcard and is limited to 30 sets, and Murakami Kaishindo's "Russian Cake" (limited to 50 pieces each day, 2,538 yen including tax), which contains three each of chocolate, apricot, raisin, and grape jam sandwiches.
