Hat brand KIJIMA TAKAYUKI is hosting an order event on the second floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building from February 12th to 17th. Designer Takayuki Kijima will be in store from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the 15th. This event offers a wide selection of materials and colors not available off-the-shelf, allowing customers to customize their favorite hats. There are two patterns available, with delivery times of approximately two months. Felt hats (starting at ¥18,900) are available in 30 different materials, including wool and rabbit fur, and each fabric is unique. Paper braid hats (starting at ¥17,850) are available in 12 colors and 20 colors each for 15mm and 25mm grosgrain ribbon. Customers can also customize the color of the paper braid on the hat body and brim. Unlike straw, the paper braid is flexible and can be rolled up and stored compactly in a bag. The brand is responsible for producing hats for brands such as "ATTACHMENT," "UNDERCOVER," and "TAKAHIROMIYASHITA The SoloIst." In addition to original products, the store also stocks items from existing collaboration brands, expressing the brand's unique worldview. Takayuki Kijima studied under Akio Hirata, a leading hat designer, and acquired haute couture techniques. Each piece, created using a unique manufacturing method and meticulous handwork by artisans, boasts soft materials and excellent functionality, and is characterized by a striking design despite its simple appearance. In 2013, the brand changed its name from "Coeur" to "Kijima Takayuki" and began global business. Kijima visits European cities, primarily Paris, several times a year. "In Japan, the culture of casually enjoying hats as fashion is well developed. However, in Europe, there is a strong class element, and it seems that the idea that hats = dressing up is still deeply rooted. In the future, I would like to propose a new culture of casually enjoying hats not only in Japan, but around the world," he says.
"When ordering, I would like you to choose based on whether it can be coordinated with your existing wardrobe and whether it expresses your individuality," says Kijima.
