Actor Shota Matsuda appointed Japan brand ambassador for Calvin Klein men's wear

Sep 1, 2021
Calvin Klein has announced that actor Shota Matsuda will serve as the Japan ambassador for its first-ever Calvin Klein men's wear campaign, which will launch in Japan this fall. The new campaign and collection will launch domestically from September 17th.

In a comment at the announcement, Matsuda said, "More than 20 years ago, when I was in the upper grades of elementary school, Calvin Klein was the first fashion brand I became aware of. I remember it vividly. I was overwhelmed by the vague image of New York and the logo on the waistband of underwear." "Fashion is something to be enjoyed casually, but sometimes you can dress up formally to stand up straight, and I believe it plays an important role in transforming you into a different person without changing your personality. I myself sometimes do this to change my mood, or to aim for a certain fashion style in order to become the person I want to be. Being appointed as an ambassador makes me feel like the brand has recognized my way of thinking and living in some way. I was also really looking forward to the campaign," he said.

The Fall 2021 Calvin Klein menswear collection features smooth lines and a cool color palette inspired by urban landscapes. The new line has been on sale in Japan since July.
