
Starting October 1st, Palace Hotel Tokyo's pastry shop, Sweets & Deli, will be selling pop and unique sweets and breads made with plenty of autumn ingredients, such as pumpkins and sweet potatoes, in preparation for Halloween on October 31st.
"Phantom" (540 yen, tax included), inspired by a round ghost, is a white chocolate mousse and raspberry cake. "Cake Potiron" (432 yen, tax included) is a pumpkin compote wrapped in almond-flavored cake, resembling a jack-o'-lantern. "Purple Sweet Potato Halloween Tart" (336 yen, tax included) is made with a soft crust containing bamboo charcoal and luxuriously filled with maple cream, sweet potato, apple, and purple sweet potato paste. "Halloween Tartine" (432 yen, tax included), a jet-black baguette reminiscent of Halloween night, is topped with seasonal vegetables such as pumpkin and lotus root and baked with fragrant cheddar cheese. Other items on sale include "Gâteau Brioche 'Halloween'" (540 yen including tax), accented with sweet pumpkin and tart apricot jam, "Pumpkin Pie" (594 yen including tax), a baked pie pastry made with pumpkin paste wrapped in buttery pastry, and "Bonbon Chocolat" (1 piece 291 yen, 3 pieces 1,234 yen, 6 pieces 2,057 yen, 9 pieces 2,880 yen). The sale period is until October 31st.
