
To celebrate its 115th anniversary, Shiseido Parlour Ginza Main Store Salon de Café will be holding the "2017 Specialty Strawberry Fair" from January 3rd to March 31st, 2017.
Shiseido Parlour began in 1902 in a corner of Shiseido's pharmacy, producing and selling Japan's first soda water and ice cream, which was still rare at the time. To commemorate the 115th anniversary, the store will be offering a wide variety of strawberry parfaits, made with Shiseido Parlour's traditional vanilla ice cream and 15 varieties of strawberries that go perfectly with the ice cream.
From January to March, a different strawberry parfait will be available each month, using different varieties of strawberries, and from the 3rd of January, the "Yamaguchi Prefecture Four-Star Strawberry Parfait" (1,890 yen including tax) and the "Kagawa Prefecture Sanuki Musume Strawberry Parfait" (1,890 yen including tax) will be added, and from the 7th, the "Gifu Prefecture Mino Musume Premium Strawberry Parfait" (3,240 yen including tax) will be added, for a total of three varieties.
In addition, on January 15th and 16th, a "Special Strawberry Day" will be held, where 15 different types of strawberry parfaits will be offered, made with 15 varieties of strawberries. The January lineup will also include "Mino Musume from Gifu Prefecture," "Yamaguchi Prefecture Shisei," and "Sanuki Musume from Kagawa Prefecture," as well as Japan's representative variety "Tochiotome from Tochigi Prefecture" (1,890 yen including tax), and Fukuoka's representative variety "Amaou from Fukuoka Prefecture" (1,890 yen including tax). Other varieties include "Sachinoka from Aomori Prefecture" (1,890 yen including tax), which is characterized by its fine flesh and firm texture, "Fukushima Prefecture Fukuharuka" (2,180 yen including tax), which is characterized by its gorgeous fragrance and sweetness, "Skyberry from Tochigi Prefecture" (2,180 yen including tax), which means "a wonderful strawberry whose size, beauty, and deliciousness reach the sky," "Kirapika from Shizuoka Prefecture" (1,890 yen including tax), which is characterized by its refined sweetness and fruity fragrance, and "Shizuoka Prefecture" (1,890 yen including tax), which has soft flesh. The 15 varieties of strawberry parfaits, all made with strawberries such as "Benihoppe" (1,890 yen including tax), "Gifu Prefecture Nohime" (1,890 yen including tax) with its soft flesh and divine fragrance, "Wakayama Prefecture Marihime" (2,340 yen including tax) with its large berries, "Tokushima Prefecture Asukarubee" (1,890 yen including tax) with its ruby-like red luster and robust flavor, "Fukuoka Prefecture Yayoihime" (1,890 yen including tax) with its firm flesh and mellow sweetness, and "Nagasaki Prefecture Kaorino" (1,890 yen including tax) with its elegant fragrance and refreshing sweetness, are available in limited quantities and orders of one per person are accepted.
